How to give a cat an injection (into the muscle)
Attention!
If you have never given an injection before, it is better to turn to someone
qualified — your vet.
1. Position the cat — lay it on its right side, press the hind legs against the floor with your right hand, and take hold of the front of the cat by the scruff with your left. Hold it firmly, so that it cannot jerk away.
2. Insert the needle into the “fleshiest” part of the thigh, then draw back on the plunger a little to make sure no blood comes. If blood does come, put the needle in somewhere else. If there is none, press the plunger down and give the injection.
